When trying to improve your health & fitness results how often do you try and convince yourself more is always better?
This is a pattern Iโve experienced with people countless times.
How familiar does this sound:
- I will exercise practically every day of the week for up to an hour at a time
- I will cut out all the things I enjoy โ I canโt possibly eat & drink my favourite things and still get results
- I canโt possibly have a treat just in case I fall off track & lose all my hard-earned results
Most people in my experience not only hate the process of this and unfortunately donโt last too long before something starts to crack!
Sure, some people may see some initial positive results going crazy with their healthy eating & exercise yet how long does this truly last for you before something usually goes wrong
Why not start with things that are so simple that it makes it super easy to stick to.
Such as:
- Start with things you are confident you will enjoy rather than simply following a trend
- Set an intention of 1-2 days per week for exercise. If you do more thatโs a bonus
- Aim to exercise for up to 20-30 minutes per time. Again, if you manage more โ BONUS
- Set the intention to work on one mealtime thatโs usually a challenge for you. This could be lunchtimes to snacks etc. Once you get a good rhythm going you can build off that.
The list is endless, but you get the idea.
The easier you make things for yourself the more likely you will stick to it long as well as short term.
This will produce steady & sustainable results which in turn will create more motivation for you to want to continue & do more.
If youโre someone that usually starts off well with your health & fitness but starts to struggle within a short space of time
